The World Keeps an Eye on the Golden Orange

The 48th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival organised by the cooperation between Metropolitan Municipality and Antalya Culture and Arts Foundation attracts a great deal of attention in the world media as is in Turkey.

The Golden Orange, which is the longest-running festival in Turkey, is followed by representatives of cinema industry all around the world.

The Golden Orange Film Festival taking place in famous cinema magazines a short time before the festival have become popular with the title, “And Woman Touched the World”, which is this year’s theme.

Screen, the globally known cinema magazine, gave a place to the news that imprisoned film maker, Cafer Panahi, has been invited to Antalya under the title “Woman’s Touch from the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival”.

Having stated that the nine of the films to compete in the National Feature-Length Film Contest are the first films of their directors, the magazine announced the “Belated Golden Oranges” and Jane Birkin, who will come to Antalya within the scope of the festival, to the world.

Having remarked that the Golden Orange Film Festival is the “Most Notable Film Festival in Turkey”, Variety, the famous American weekly culture and arts magazine, gave a place to the explanations of the Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Akaydın.

Filmink, the best cinema magazine in Australia, carried the Women’s Summit on its page within the news where it mentioned the theme of the festival, the competing films, and the Belated Golden Orange Awards.

The Egyptian journal, Youm 7, carried the press conference of the “Belated Golden Oranges”, which was held on 12 September and where the awards of 79 and 80 were announced, along with its photographs.

Having emphasised that thousands of people were killed, and, the intellectuals were imprisoned and exposed to occupational restrictions during the period of 12 September, the German magazine, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, mentioned the presenting of “Belated Awards” as “to keep silent ended” under the title of “Old Ghosts”.
