Release Dates : 12 October 2011 Wednesday
Akdeniz University enabling new ideas and information to be shared and different views to be discussed within the festival has hosted director Reis Çelik this time.

Reis Çelik, who described the production process of the film “İnat Hikayeleri” (Tales of Intransigence) shot in 2003 and attended at the 48th Golden Orange Film Festival with the documentary “İnadına Film Çekmek” (Shooting Films On Purpose), met students of Akdeniz University and cinema lovers of Antalya. Having told the set of the film that he shot based on the tradition of telling impromptu stories of folk poets in Anatolia, Çelik mentioned shooting films in Turkey, the development that cinema has undergone, the impact of technology on art, and democratisation in art.

Reis Çelik having started his occupational carrier as a photographer and scriptwriter shot the film “İnat Hikayeleri” (Tales of Intransigence) in the Çıldır Town of Ardahan along with the master actor Tuncel Kurtiz after a one-year technical preparatory stage. Çelik and Kurtiz having started the film with only the word of “Intransigence” without any written script handled with the resistance of local people against hard life conditions. Çelik performed as a camera operator, sound and lighting technician and all other duties.

Having stated that the difficulty of the regional conditions caused technical problems, Çelik said: “The solution of the problem becomes the regional tradition as well. I contacted with Nuri Bilge Ceylan during my search for a camera which can shoot at -40 centigrade degree and we agreed on Sony PD 150. However the camera stopped at -40 centigrade degree. I had a woman of the village knit a cover from angora wool. Thus we can shoot at -40 centigrade degree.”
