The Mayor of Antalya and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Antalya Culture and Arts Foundation, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Akaydın, and his wife Dr. Günseli Akaydın organised a dinner at 7 Mehmet Restaurant for the sake of the jury members completely consisting of women at the 48th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. Akaydın having made a speech at the dinner said: “Accompanying the jury consisting of such valuable and selective ladies at this dinner makes me very happy and honours me. Thank all of you very much because of your support for and participations in the festival.”
One of the jury members, Şevval Sam, was among the ones who talked to the Mayor Akaydın. Having stated that the statement “from Şevval Sam to Akaydın” written in some journals and websites after the press conference of the jury was not correct, Sam said: “I made a joke, they said that I rebuked him.”
“We are the eyes and ears of cinema”
The film titled Kaç Para Kaç (Run For Money) directed by Reha Erdem was screened within the activities organised by the cooperation of International Film Festival. The audio description of the film, which was screened with a detailed subtitle for the hearing impaired, was performed by famous artist Melike Demirağ for the visually impaired. After the film screening, Melike Demirağ was presented a thanking plaque due to her support.
“İnadına Film Çekmek” (Shooting Film On Purpose)
The screening of the documentary titled “İnadına Film Çekmek” (Shooting Film On Purpose) directed by Reis Çelik and starring Tuncel Kurtiz was held within “NTV World Documentaries”. The film was shot in the Çıldırlı village of Kars 9 years ago. The whole documentary was without script and improvised. After the screening of the documentary, Tuncel Kurtiz and Reis Çelik held an interview with the audience.
